Jag berättade tidigare om det gamla Cupertino, staden i Silicon Valley som nu har blivit gentrifierad och betongifierad. Ett ledsamt öde för den gamla idyllen. Men det finns fortfarande små lämningar av det gamla Cupertino kvar, som detta lilla hus någora hundra meter från Apple.
För bara några år sedan fanns det en aprikosodling kvar mitt i hjärtat av Cupertino, men den är nu borta, liksom Olsons kösbärsfarm i Sunnyvale.
Idag finns det endast en bondgård kvar i hela Silicon Valley. Varje gång jag kör förbi den undrar jag hur länge till den kommer att finnas kvar. Silicon Valley utan lungor, inte bra för våra lungor.

I have just scrolled through the pictures and translated allbeit kanske poorly your musings on “Progressive USA” and cannot help but wonder:
Do you live here in Cupertino, work here and plan on staying? Or are you simply a visitor that wanders around, taking pictures and making snide comments on the lifestyle of Californians (Americans)?
You write the gas prices is under 2.00 but will certainly rise. Nice and easy prediction.
You smirk at the number of tiles on that house. Consider that unlike in Sweden where rooftiles are common, (been there, seen that)they also don’t have SNOW on them 3 months or more out of the year and perhaps construction design can accommodate more intersections. More complicated a design, more tiles.
I really don’t get this one characteristic of some people who come here and point fingers and joke and jeer at Americans. If it’s so awful here, go someplace more pleasing to your senses. If you have NO other choice, then try to find something positive to write about. Surely there is SOMETHING good in your worldview about California. If not, head eastward and look.
Efter att ha publicerat ett otal lyriska beskrivningar över den kaliforniska naturen och Silicon Valley så blir man litet förvånad över en kommentar som den ovan som tydligen inte har en aning om vad inlägget handlar om, men som har fått för sig att eftersom det är skrivet på ett främmande språk så måste det vara negativt. Vad kan man säga?
Having published untold lyrical descriptions of California and Silicon Valley one is somewhat surprised at a comment that manages to completely miss what this post is all about, and that seems to take it for granted that just because the post is in a foreign language it must be negative.
