Det finns politiker som har tur, det finns politiker som har otur och det finns politiker som har katastrofal otur.
Just nu, efter sitt katastrofala nederlag i Pennsylvania och paret Clintons framgångsrika motattack så har Obamas gamle pastor beslutat sig för att han också vill gotta sig i rampljuset och sticka inte bara en utan flera dussin knivar i sin forne lärljunge.
Wright’s back och den amerikanska pressen och TV:n flödar över med rapporter om pastorns senaste galenskaper. Och för varje nytt framträdande så blir Obamas position allt svagare.

But for the third time in four days, Mr. Wright made a high-profile public appearance to discuss and repeat some of his more controversial statements, this time at the National Press Club in Washington.Mr. Wright suggested that the attacks of Sept. 11 were at least in part a response by terrorists to terrorism practiced by the United States abroad. You cannot do terrorism on other people and expect it never to come back on you, he said. He stood by his suggestion that the United States might have invented H.I.V., the virus that causes AIDS. He defended the Rev. Louis Farrakhan - whom he referred to at times just by his first name - noting his large appeal among African-Americans.

Civil rights leaders have become aging wise men revered for their inspirational sayings, not radical activists who preached truth to power. “There is so much more going on in black churches than gospel music,” says Emilie Townes, professor of African American religion at Yale Divinity School.
The poster boy of the reimagined black church is Martin Luther King, Jr. “King said America suffered from a ‘congenital disease’ and that disease is racism,” notes Eddie Glaude, Princeton professor of religion. He says that King’s speech against the Vietnam War, delivered at Riverside Church in April 1967, was not a feel-good speech.
“It was a passionate cry to speak to these enormous problems that were linked to America’s imperialism and militarism, and what he saw as the evils of capitalism.” By that point int his career, King had been banned from Lyndon Johnson’s White House. The New York Times condemned his speech, running an editorial calling it “Dr. King’s Error.” And Barry Goldwater said King “bordered a little bit on treason.”

If Wright’s speech on Monday to an overflow crowd of press and members of the African-American religious establishment showed anything, it’s that these different personae don’t always play well together. Wearing a black suit, a white shirt and a silver-gray tie, Wright sat on the dais before the proceedings began, looking professorial a man with a long and proud career, chatting amiably with acolytes.When he began to speak, this side of him emerged even more. His remarks offered a history lesson to the white press, as he delivered an evenhanded lecture on the roots of the black church in America, going back to the days before emancipation, when black people had to worship God in secret.

Och när Barack Obama nu har en chans att bli USA:s första afroamerkanska president så reagerar den äldre generationen, som man trodde inte längre var rasistisk, med skräck, påeldad av de tidigare så pro-afroamerikanska Bill och Hillary Clinton.

Kolla in Bill Moyers suveräna intervju med honom som sändes i fredags kväll på PBS. Där får Wright chansen att förklara vad han menar och det är verkligen inget fel på honom. Snarare tvärtom.
Den enda anledningen till att han kommit i rampljuset är att Hillary Clinton tillsammans med republikaner kör en rasistisk swiftboat-attack mot Obama med Wright som slagträ. Hillary och republikanerna gör nu vad som helst för att få bort Obama.
Sen en sak till: Hillarys vinst i Pennsylvania som du och andra säger är enorm, var faktiskt bara 10 delegater, och det är inte mycket med tanke på den ledning som Obama har.
Visst är det himla "otur" för Obama att han suttit i 20 år och lyssnat på Wrights hatpredikningar, valt honom som vigselförättare och andlig rådgivare, samt dedicerat sin bok till honom.
Lustigt nog har Wright också varit "andlig rådgivare" åt familjen Clinton.
Så har vi AIDS-kontroversen. Titta lite under ytan så upptäcker du att ingen vet var AIDS-viruset kommer ifrån och ingen vet varför det blev en epidemi just i New York. Dessutom skulle jag också vara ytterst misstänksam mot farbror staten om jag visste att man kört syfilisexperiment under årtionden just most min folkgrupp (Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male).
"When he states and then amplifies such ridiculous propositions as the U.S. government somehow being involved in AIDS; when he suggests Minister Farrakhan somehow represents one of the greatest voices of the 20th and 21st centuries; when he equates the United States's wartime efforts with terrorism; there are no excuses. They offend me. They rightly offend all Americans."
He also said Wright's comments "were not only divisive and destructive, but I believe they also end up giving comfort to those who prey on hate, and I believe they do not portray accurately the perspective of the black church."

Jag ser inget fel i dessa kommentarer, speciellt inte från hans perspektiv som en svart amerikan.
