Nu på lördag samlas den demokratiska Rules and Bylaws Committee i Washington för att avgöra frågan om hur man skall behandla delegaterna från de regelstridiga primärvalen i Michigan och Florida.
Hillary Clinton vill räkna sig till godo rösterna och delegaterna från Michigan, där Obama inte ens ställde upp, och Florida, för att sedan kunna säga att hon har vunnit flest röster (det är delegater on inte röster som räknas) och på det sättet fortsätta sin valkampanj till partikonventet i Denver i slutet av Augusti i hopp om att kunna besegra Obama under själva kontentet och, bör vi tillägga, orsaka honom så stor skada att John McCain vinner presidentvalet och ger Clinton en chans att komma igen om fyra år och samtidigt behålla makten över det demokratiska partiet.
Men det verkar inte som om Clinton kommer att få det som hon vill, trots att hon har bett sina anhängare demonstrera utanför mötet på lördan i ett desperat försök om att pressa delegaterna att ge vika för hennes krav.

An analysis by lawyers for the Democratic Party says party rules call for Florida and Michigan to lose at least half their delegate strength at the party’s convention in August, an outcome that could close off Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s last opportunity to cut significantly into Senator Barack Obama’s lead in delegates.
The legal analysis, sent late Tuesday to the party’s rules committee, is expected to guide a meeting this weekend where the committee will try to settle one of the most contentious issues remaining in the Democratic presidential race: what to do with delegates from Florida and Michigan, which violated party rules by moving up their primaries ahead of Feb. 5.
Mrs. Clinton had hoped for the full Florida and Michigan delegations to be seated, and for their votes to be apportioned according to the results in their primaries, which she won. But the lawyers’ analysis said that as punishment for the primaries’ being held early, party rules allowed the states nothing more than that their delegations be cut in half, or that the full delegations be seated with each delegate getting only half a vote.

Susie Tompkins Buell, a longtime friend of Clinton’s and - along with her husband, Mark Buell - one of the country’s most generous Democratic donors, is one of the forces behind the WomenCount political action committee.
Since its formation earlier this month, the group has spent at least $140,000 to publish full-page ads in newspapers around the country in support of Clinton, according to the organization’s papers on file with the Federal Elections Commission.
The committee’s ads, headlined “Not So Fast,” urge that the votes of women - who make up 51 percent of the American electorate - be fully counted in the 2008 presidential election.
Det mest troliga som det ser ut just nu att Clinton överklagar till kreditivkommittèn i Juli. Frågan är då om demokraterna kan tvinga henne att ge upp utan att samtidigt göra hennes anhängare fly förbannade.
Det faktum att Obama kommer att ha vunnit nog med delegater för att kunna utropa sig till segrare nästa vecka betyder ingenting om inte Clinton samtidigt ger upp.
Jag misstänker att hennes egentliga mål helt enkelt är att göra allt hon kan för att förhindra att Obama vinner mot mcCain utan att göra det alltför uppenbart att det är det hon är efter.
Vi får se. Om hon har gett upp om en vecka så har jag fel. Men jag tvivlar på det.
